Overview
Supporting our international growth plans, we are seeking a Senior Marketing Manager responsible for leading, developing and executing the Marketing and Communications strategy in the China region. This will involve delivery of operational plans to engage, deliver and report marketing communications to our core targets: customers (channel value chain – end brand), media (T1, trade and vertical), industry analysts (IA) and talent in the region.
Reporting to the SVP Corporate Marketing, Communications & Public Affairs, you will be a key part of our Marketing team; collaborating closely with our UK-based Corporate Marketing team and the regional China Business Development & Sales Lead to optimise marketing impact that will reinforce and amplify our unique value proposition, galvanizing our position as an innovative FlexIC technology leader, to build our brand, drive demand and partner to scale.
You will set the communication direction, own the localisation of corporate messaging and content to effectively deliver 360 fully integrated marketing activities. You will act as the regional marketing expert spanning marketing campaigns, communications, brand, events and digital, with full responsibility for driving the media and industry analyst programs that support the business to grow reach and penetration with Chinese customers.
You will lead agency management supporting the PR function and have responsibility for the company presence at IOTE Shenzhen, our flagship tradeshow.
We are looking for a driven and ambitious self-starter with a strategic outlook and growth mindset, who relishes the opportunity to build a new category and help us grow our China presence. You will be comfortable working remotely with support from the Corporate Marketing team. This is a highly autonomous position with considerable opportunity for growth.
The role is China based, working remotely, ideally in close proximity to Shanghai or Shenzhen (we are also open to other locations in China) to support customer and commercial activity, and will require travel in the region as required (with occasional international travel to our Cambridge HQ).
Key tasks
- Devise communication strategy structured to drive meaningful engagement and impact across the marketing funnel with our core target audiences
- Responsibility for the full communications mix spanning:
- PR
- Industry Analyst relations
- Partner marketing
- CXO profile programs
- Thought leadership program
- Messaging – direction and associated content and assets
- Campaigns
- Events / trade shows – owned and industry
- Local digital platforms: website and WeChat - Shape marketing/communication plans and tools to scale with internal stakeholders (leadership, sales, product management etc.) as well as externally with key customers, partners and other ecosystem stakeholders
- Drive effective communications across 360 marketing programs – co-ordinating across the team - to maximise meaningful results that support the company brand and reputation and ultimately impact business results and performance, supporting revenue and pipeline growth
- Support and drive an ambitious, creative and proactive culture that empowers and motivates
- Budget management responsibility
- Devise and own the communication KPIs and lead regular reporting (monthly, QBR) and contribute to annual reviews and planning
Qualifications and Training
You will ideally be degree-educated in communications, marketing or a related field (advantageous) or will possess equivalent experience.
Skills and experience
Essential:
- Proven track record of leading, building and curating B2B marketing and communications strategy and delivery of operational programs in the tech sector
- Local language skills, with proven regional marketing experience and expertise
- Growth mindset with a proactive, resilient and solution-based approach required for a scale up and driving the business through a period of hyper growth
- Experience of managing agencies – Public Relations, Public Affairs, Research
- Strategic mindset with a focus on driving delivery
- Ambition to seek out creative and innovative communication approaches with a good understanding of the latest communications trends and tools
- Exceptional project management skills
- Budget and reporting management experience
- Solid communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Experience in semiconductor or RFID sectors would be beneficial
