Overview
Pragmatic Semiconductor's Emerging Applications team is focused on the development of new design IP and applications in a range of areas, from sensors, analogue circuits to general purpose microcontrollers, and beyond.
The Emerging Applications team works with Commercial and Technology teams to validate and demonstrate feasibility in new application areas, expanding the IP portfolio available to designers, accelerating time to market, and sparking creativity within the broader ecosystem.
The Validation Engineer will be responsible for characterising the performance of novel IP developed in Pragmatics unique FlexIC technology. This role contributes directly to the evaluation and characterisation of manufactured circuitry, analysing device performance across realised process corners. Application domains span both digital and analogue circuity, from ADCs and sensor readouts to microprocessors, communication peripherals and digital display drivers.
Key tasks
- Working alongside Test Development, Data Analysis and Design Engineers to characterise novel IP post-manufacture.
- Root-cause identification of failure modes and performance detractors, assessing how they relate to specific elements of design or the manufacturing process
- Drive continuous improvement and best practice for testing and evaluation
Qualifications and training
The successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree or post-graduate degree level in Electronics, Engineering, Physics or a related subject.
Skills and experience
- Strong understanding of fundamental electronics and circuit theory
- Hands on experience of electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital pattern generators, and waveform generators
- A strong ability to solve technical problems with many different variables
- Previous experience using Cadence IC Design Tools (advantage)
- Previous experience using NI PXI test systems (advantage)
- Understanding of thin film electronics (advantage)
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established and growing team, during a very exciting period of expansion at Pragmatic.
