Overview
Pragmatic is seeking an experienced, driven Quality Engineer to join its growing team in County Durham. Reporting to the Compliance Director, this role will be a key part of the Quality team as we ramp up production and expand into a new, state of the art site in the North East.
Key tasks
- Lead the implementation and analysis of the Quality business system & associated processes & improvements
- Lead & champion Quality problem-solving and improvement opportunities as determined through data analysis, customer audits, complaints, Six Sigma projects, and other quality-related programs
- Write, review and approve reports, SOP’s and other technical documentation and communicate effectively to other stakeholders
- Lead internal & external audits and assist with supplier quality programs
- Lead Change management system and track progress and actions effectively
- Develop and deliver necessary training to staff
- Establish robust and proactive reporting and investigative processes to improve engagement with staff and reduce Quality non-conformances across the business
- Participate in the CRB/MRB process and provide informed suggestions to management
- Maintain, improve and streamline the QMS to support the workforce and ensure compliance with ISO9001/14001/27001 and other relevant standards
- Coordinate and handle customer complaints & corrective action plans
- Deputise in the absence of the Compliance officer
Qualifications and training
- Ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quality role within a Manufacturing organisation (preferably semiconductor/electronic fabrication) using modern manufacturing techniques
- Proven experience of driving Quality improvements through an organisation
- High level of competency with Microsoft Office
- Ideally trained to Green belt level or above
Skills and experience
- Experience of implementing & maintaining Quality Management standards/systems and applying risk-based thinking
- In depth knowledge of FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, APQP, RCA, Kaizen etc
- Demonstrated ability to apply Structured Root Cause Analysis to resolve issues and problems, including Situational, 5 Why, 8D
- Audit Skills
- Engaging and influencing stakeholders
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong administrative/organisational skills and excellent communication
- Experience in adhering to ISO 9001/14001 (essential)
- Experience in adhering to ISO 27001 standards (desirable)
- A proactive attitude and ability to act as a role model for Pragmatic values and work to the highest standards to ensure Quality criteria are always upheld.
