Overview
A Foundry Application Engineer is required to augment the FlexIC Foundry Engineering team, providing technical support to customers of our FlexIC Foundry manufacturing service.
An ideal candidate will have experience in the interactions between design partners and foundry platforms in silicon or alternative semiconductor technologies and be comfortable in an external facing role supporting our customers, their products, and their roadmaps.
The role will involve supporting a growing number of customers and projects, establishing strong technical relationships with customers, and providing clear communication of external customer requirements as well as issues to our internal teams.
Key Tasks
- Managing technical engagement with assigned customers around their use case, products, and any issues encountered with PragmatIC’s PDK or physical delivery.
- Support Sales with new customer engagements. Propose suitability of technical engagements.
- Provide feedback within the team to aid in directing internal development of PDK, technical notes, and business systems.
- Present credible representations of PragmatIC technology strengths and weaknesses internally and externally.
- Aid customers through from the design phase of a project through to manufacture and delivery, providing feedback and inputs across the process
Qualifications and training
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Post-graduate degree in the above.
- Focus on Semiconductor Engineering or Circuit Design.
Skills and experience
- Knowledge of fabless product development cycles and foundry interactions.
- Experience with novel semiconductor and circuit materials and form factors (e.g. flexible and/or printed electronics).
- Knowledge of PDK development and provision.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills.
- Experience with analogue design environments such as Cadence Virtuoso.
- Semiconductor test, packaging, and assembly ecosystem and approaches.
