Overview
PragmatIC is seeking a Electronics Lab Coordinator with a safety-first mindset to oversee our growing electronics lab on the Cambridge Science Park. The successful candidate will be required to work flexibly (e.g. at weekends, early mornings, or evenings) to work around Engineers and make best use of equipment time. Reporting to the Test Development Director, this position will be an important role in the company and will contribute to the success of the growing Test function.
Key tasks
- Ensure the lab is a safe organised and efficient place to work
- Enforce lab rules and equipment schedules
- Carry out Routine Maintenance activities (e.g. Consumable Replacements, Hardware Changes, Module strip down, cleaning and rebuilds)
- Communicate with equipment vendors to schedule external calibration/repair of equipment
- Maintain an inventory of components, equipment, and product; order supplies to ensure the lab is always well stocked
- Follow standard operating procedures to operate lab equipment and run scheduled automated tests
- Identify resource gaps and report them to management
- Support the quality team in tracking the status of equipment, determining if it has had a recent portable appliance test (PAT testing), or is in calibration etc.
Qualifications and training
The successful candidate be educated to a minimum of GCSE level in core subjects, and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc).
Skills and experience
- Previous experience of semiconductor/electronics lab equipment
- Knowledge of ESD and Health & Safety best practices and regulatory requirements
- Exceptional organisational skills
- A problem-solving attitude towards tasks
- A strong ability to solve technical problems with many different variables.
- A strong ability to work to tight deadlines and progress multiple projects simultaneously.
